AN 85-YEAR-OLD woman was killed when her car collided with a truck on the A280.
A Fiat Panda travelling southbound along the A280 Long Furlong, near Worthing, collided with a DAF truck travelling in the opposite direction at about 12.18pm yesterday.
The woman, who lived locally and was the only occupant of the Fiat, was pronounced dead at the scene, despite the best efforts of members of the public and paramedics.
A section of the road was closed for several hours to allow for investigations and recovery work.
Witnesses to the collision or anyone with relevant dashcam footage are being urged by police to email collision.appeal@sussex.police.uk quoting Operation Folkstone.
