A 101-YEAR-OLD dancer has celebrated her birthday in style with a huge party.
Dinkie Flowers turned 101 earlier this month and was thrown a The Greatest Showman-themed birthday party last weekend to celebrate.
Local gymnasts from i-Star academy provided the entertainment for the evening, and there was a raffle to help fund the girls’ upcoming trip to America for a competition.
Lesley Tomlinson, Dinkie’s good friend, said: “Dinkie’s party was a great success, she loved every minute of it.
"Everyone was blown away by the entertainment provided by the girls of i-Star Academy who danced to the music of The Greatest Showman.”
Dinkie, from Shoreham, was joined by old friends and colleagues from her decades of dancing.
Party guests spent time admiring the memorabilia of her showbiz history which was placed around the room.
Lesley added: “Dinkie slipped away from the party to change for the musical finale, where she wowed everyone when she came on to the stage wearing a light-up dress and was lifted aloft by the i-Star girls.
“Guests were amazed by Dinkie’s tireless energy and zest for life, especially those skater friends that had performed with her 70 years ago."
