FIRE crews were pictured in a residential street following a lightning strike.
Photos taken at the scene show East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service (ESFRS) in Primrose Way, Polegate at around 9pm last night.
An eyewitness at the scene said there had been in a fire in the roof of a house following a lightening strike.
A spokesman for ESFRS said:"At 9.50pm, we were called to attend a residential property on Primrose Way, Polegate following reports of a lightning striking the roof of a property.
"Firefighters from Eastbourne and Hastings attended.
"Firefighters used two Breathing Apparatus and one Hose Reel Jet to extinguish a small fire in the roof space of the property.
"We left the scene at 10.58pm."
