A MAN was assaulted and had personal items taken from him in a robbery in the early hours of the morning.
A group of men assaulted the man and took items from him at around 2am on May 22 in the Boardwalk area of Crawley.
Members of the public assisted the victim in the aftermath of the robbery before he left the scene and returned home.
A 30-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of robbery and released on conditional bail while enquiries continue.
Police investigating the incident are appealing for witnesses to come forward, with officers keen to speak to anyone who assisted the victim or who saw what happened.
People are urged to report what they saw to police online or by calling 101, quoting serial 183 of 22/05.
