THE UNOFFICIAL gay capital of the UK has been ranked the top LGBTQ+ party spot in the country.
In a study by The Bottle Club, Brighton was crowned the best place for LGBTQ+ partygoers, getting full marks for hate crime safety.
The city also performed highly for its annual Pride celebrations, which attracted 2.7 million views on the social media platform TikTok.
However, despite placing first in the list, the city scored poorly for drink prices, scoring just 0.9 out of ten.
London and Edinburgh came in second and third respectively.

However, it was Prague in the Czech Republic that clinched the top spot for best party destination for LGBTQ+ people in Europe, with no destination in the UK placing in the top 20.
Known for its rich history and enchanting architecture, Prague scored highly for its 52 LGBTQ+ bars and low level of hate crime.
Club Revenge in Old Steine was also ranked one of the best LGBTQ+ bars in the country in the study, placing tenth and scoring highly for its Instagram following.
Marys in Cardiff, The Viaduct in Leeds and the Royal Vauxhall Tavern in London placed in the top three best LGBTQ+ bars in the UK.
The ranking comes as Brighton prepares to welcome the return of its Pride weekend, which has been cancelled for the last two years due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Christina Aguilera, Paloma Faith, Ella Henderson, Todrick Hall and RuPaul’s Drag Race UK stars Bimini and Tia Kofi are among those who will be headlining this year’s festival in Preston Park.
The city’s Pride festivities attract an estimated half a million people to Brighton and Hove over the weekend across the parade, the Pride in the Park festival and other related events.
The event also brings in an estimated £20.5 million to the city’s economy.
