POLICE are looking to reunite several pieces of jewellery with their owners following a series of distraction burglaries.
At least 12 incidents took place at properties in Bognor between March 19 and April 24.
Officers say elderly people were targeted in their homes and items including cash and jewellery have been stolen.
Police have released a photo of several recovered stolen items, including rings, necklaces and earrings.
The force is urging anyone who recognises the items pictured to come forward.
James Beany, of Gravits Lane, Bognor, was charged with burglary and trespassing with intent to steal following offences on May 16 and 17.
The 45-year-old appeared at Brighton Magistrates’ Court on Saturday, where he was remanded in custody to appear at Portsmouth Crown Court on June 17.
Detective Inspector Alan Pack said: “I would like to remind people to always check the identity of any callers, especially if they are unexpected.
“No professional will mind waiting outside whilst you make a call to confirm their identity and police officers will always show their warrant card.
“If you feel you may have been a victim of a distraction burglary, please call Sussex Police on 101.”
