A CHURCH'S stained glass windows have been damaged by youths with catapults and ball bearings.
Lewes Police said there have been several reports of public buildings being vandalised in Ringmer in recent weeks.
Damaged properties include the Church of St Mary the Virgin, where the stained glass windows were targeted.
Police said catapults and ball bearings were the main causes of the vandalism.
Following an investigation by the Lewes Neighbourhood Policing Team, three local youths were identified and visited by police.
Their catapults were seized by officers as a result.
“The youths will subsequently be coming into Lewes Police Station to account for their actions,” a police spokesman said.
“Sussex Police take antisocial behaviour and vandalism very seriously. If you see any of this behaviour then please do report it.”
The public are urged to contact police online or by calling 101. Alternatively, if it is an emergency, call 999.
Last week, police increased patrols near two train stations amid ongoing antisocial behaviour.
