Takeaway food from the sushi counter at Waitrose is now available on Deliveroo.
Asian food specialist Sushi Daily is teaming up with Deliveroo to provide a delivery service from ten Waitrose counters in the South East, including the one at the store in Western Road, Brighton.
Deliveroo customers can order from a menu of more than 50 options.
Sushi Daily, owned by parent company Kelly Deli, have an expansive menu, with prices ranging from £1.30 for a crispy nori snack to £39 for a sharing platter Nagoya Mix, which includes 32 pieces of handmade sushi featuring avocado, salmon, tuna and yellowtail.
Customers will also be able to choose from favourites such as sashimi and nigiri, popular starters and sides such as edamame and wakame salad, and other sharing platters including hikari, maki and veggie mixes.
Kelly Deli managing director Ian Roberts said: “We are living through an evolution in the way people engage with and consume food.
“During the pandemic, the only means of reaching customers was through delivery. Now habits have changed, and people expect to be able to get their favourite meals and snacks delivered to the door, be that at home or in the office.
“Deliveroo has a reputation of getting food from counter to customers fast, so they were the perfect partner for us, as everything we create is freshly prepared on-site by artisanal chefs, using the freshest ingredients.
“Our sushi counters in Waitrose supermarkets give people the chance to recreate that restaurant experience at home, but now it can be delivered straight to their home or office at the touch of a button.”
Sushi Daily’s menus and combos will also be available, so sushi fans can enjoy a mix of salmon, tuna and vegetarian maki, rolls, speciality rolls, nigiri and sides.
Customers can also expect discounts, ranging from 20 per cent to 30 per cent off, as well as some offers on individual dishes.
Carlo Mocci, chief business officer at Deliveroo, said: “Sushi Daily and Deliveroo are the perfect marriage. Fresh ingredients depend on a reliable, fast delivery service, and that’s what we provide.
“We’re excited to be able to offer our expanding customer base more choice by working with Sushi Daily, offering delivery in as little as 20 minutes.”
