POLICE have conducted patrols in a residential area following reports of suspicious activity.
Officers from Arun Police have stepped up their presence in and around Longford Road, Bognor, after reports of a man cold calling at properties.
Police said foot patrols by the Neighbourhood Policing Team have increased to combat the reported suspicious activity.
“If someone knocks at your front door claiming to be from a company or charity, always examine and check their ID,” a police spokesman said.
“If you are not happy then do not give them any personal details or let them into your home.
“Never ring any telephone number displayed on their ID card. Tell them to wait outside, shut the door and ring the genuine number from the website or telephone book.
“If you have any concerns then please contact us via 101 or online: In an emergency, please dial 999.”
Earlier this month, Adur and Worthing Police increased their presence in and around Ferry Road, Shoreham, follow reports of concern from members of the public about antisocial behaviour.
Meanwhile, police carried out patrols in antisocial behaviour “hot spots” in Arundel town centre the week prior to that.
