A WOMAN has died after falling from a cliff.
Emergency services were called to the cliffs in Eastbourne on Friday, May 13.
Police said they were called after a woman was spotted falling from a cliff at about 6pm.
She was pronounced dead at the scene.
“Around 6pm on Friday, May 13, a woman was seen to fall from cliffs near Eastbourne, and was sadly confirmed deceased,” a police spokesman said.
“There are no suspicious circumstances.”
The RNLI Eastbourne said a volunteer crew were paged at about 6.30pm.
They were requested to launch their inshore lifeboat and tasked to assist police, local coastguards and the coastguard rescue helicopter with the incident to the east of the Belle Tout Lighthouse.
“There will be no further details due to the sensitive nature of the call,” a RNLI spokesman said.
“Our volunteer crew had previously launched the day before to an incident of the same nature.”
Last week, a 42-year-old man died after falling from the cliffs.
Emergency services were called to the Beachy Head cliffs in Eastbourne on Tuesday, May 3, over concerns for the welfare of a man.
“Sadly, a man aged 42 has died,” a police spokesman said.
His next of kin have been informed.
“A file will be prepared for the coroner,” the police spokesman added.
