PICTURES show emergency services responding to a flat fire in which one man was rescued.
Crews from both Worthing and Shoreham attended the scene at a flat in Chatham Road, Worthing at around 4.20am today.
A man was rescued from the "severe" fire on the first floor of the flat.
The fire crews were supported by Sussex Police and South East Coast Ambulance teams.
Steve Buchanan-Lee, GM operational training and development for the West Sussex fire service praised the teams for their work.
He said: "Great life saving work from the WestSussexFire, WorthingFire, ShorehamFire, WDS and RDS teams.
"One male rescued from severe fire on first floor, all other persons accounted for.
"Key support from SECAmbulance and Sussex Police, JFC and RET.
"Full investigation now underway."
