HEAVY delays are expected in the city centre this morning going into the afternoon due to a children’s parade.
Brighton Festival is kicking off with around 5,000 school children, along with their teachers, parading the city centre with a “sea of colour”.
There are going to be many full and rolling road closures in Brighton’s city centre, including North Road, Jubilee Street, New Road and Madeira Drive.
The parade is expected to last until about 1pm today.
Several bus companies’ services are affected, including Brighton and Hove Buses, Stagecoach South, Big Lemon and Compass Travel services.
Returning to full capacity for the first time since the pandemic, Brighton Festival will run from May 7 to 19.
Among the 150 events, exhibitions, venues and shows on offer at the festival are the Children’s Parade, The Riwaq and more.
