A TAKEAWAY has announced it is to close its doors for good.
Burger Off has closed its takeaway in Brunswick Street, Hove, with immediate effect.
A spokesman for the burger venue said: “It’s with great sadness we have had to close our doors.
“We are sorry that we wouldn’t have given you all more notice.
“We will miss you, as much as you will hopefully miss us.”
Burger Off specialised in made-to-order meals including meat and vegetarian burgers and milkshakes.
It also offered a popular click-and-collect takeaway service.
Customers were quick to express their shock at the news and shared their memories of the burger joint.
Martin Lea said: “I’m in complete shock and feeling rather sad. Thank you so much for all the burgers and banter over the years.
“It’s hard to describe just how good your burgers were.
“The Double Double burger was the ultimate hangover cure, and your onion rings were simply magnificent.
“You guys are legends and I wish you all the best for the future. Take Care.”
Paul Cullen added: “Wish you all the luck in the world. I’ve got great memories from all the years of seeing people eating the hot burgers. Always great food and great service.”
Darren Richard Corr said the closure was a “great loss to Brighton”.
He said: “One of the best places for a burger and the guys always pushed the bar.
“Will be sadly missed I remember bringing my very pregnant misses in two years ago and she left a happy lady.”
Jordan Bain said the venue will be missed among student at BIMM.
He said: “Legendary to all BIMM student. I hope you continue to do something great, whatever that may be. Good luck Burger Off team.”
Dre Johnson added: “When I studied at Brighton and lived on Portland Road, I used to eat in your place regularly.
“I unfortunately live in London now and only got the opportunity to eat your delicious wares on my visits to friends. Wish you all the best.”
The venue had more than 170 reviews on Tripadvisor, with 129 of those ranking the restaurant as excellent.
