PICTURES show the aftermath of a crash on the A27 involving a lorry and a car.
The collision occurred westbound between Devil’s Dyke Road and Hangleton, causing long delays this morning.
Images taken at the scene show the car being removed from the road, it has been severely damaged, with the entire front of the vehicle destroyed.
The HGV can be seen on the side of the road whilst emergency services attend the scene.
One lane remains closed westbound at Hangleton, Hove, with slow traffic moving on the eastbound carriageway.
Heavy traffic has also formed from the A27 Patcham Interchange.
The collision was first reported at around 4.30am.
Sussex Police have been contacted for comment.
