Officers were called to Dormans youth centre following an incident in the early hours of Monday morning.
Pictures from the scene show a large cordon had been put in place at Gossops Green playing field.
A Sussex Police spokesman said: “We are investigating an incident at Dormans, Crawley, that took place in the early hours of Monday, April 25.
“Any witnesses are asked to report it to Sussex Police online and quote serial 108 of 25/04.”
