A LARGE procession of motorcyclists have taken to the streets to remember one of their own.

Biker Dan Kinsella, from Brighton, died in hospital following the crash on the A259 in Portslade on Wednesday, March 16.

Despite efforts from passers-by who performed CPR, the 25-year-old died from his injuries two days later.

A large procession of motorcyclists travelled through Brighton and Lancing on their way to his funeral in Worthing.

Friends, family and colleagues previously took to social media to pay tribute to Dan, who worked at Wemoto Motorcycle Parts in Southwick.

Kymmii Woodison said: “I've only just learnt what's happened and it isn't half crushing. Dan was one of the most brilliant people I've ever had the pleasure of hanging with, laughing with and just existing with, and I know he'd be laughing at that prospect of me saying that alone. Goodnight brother."

Tom Nash said he lost his best friend and a “beloved staple in many of our lives”, while Nicci Parish said Dan’s death was “cruel, wicked and so bloody unfair”.

Alex Tooth added: "You were such a bright light in this world, and I know you’ll continue to shine bright up in the stars."

A 34-year-old man from Southwick was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury and dangerous driving and driving under the influence of drugs over the specified limit.

He has been released under investigation while enquiries continue.

Dan’s employers Wemoto Motorcycle Parts said they were saddened to have lost a “valued staff member and good friend”.

“To all the community, please be safe out there. Rest in peace Dan. With love from the Wemoto team,” they said.

A GoFundMe page has also been set up to raise money and “give him the send-off he deserves”.

The page has raised £7,800 to date.

Set up by John Kitchener and Thomas Nash, the page states: “As unfortunately most of you already know, the amazing man we all know as Dan sadly left us on the March 18 at 4:34pm.

“Due to this sad news, the fund will be going toward a funeral fund and every penny means a lot.

"Everyone that has donated we are all hugely grateful with big thanks and it will give him the send-off he deserves."

Sussex Police are appealing for witnesses to the crash at the junction of Wellington Road and Church Road, Portslade, at 8.25am on Wednesday, March 16.

Detective Sergeant Rob Baldwin, of the Surrey and Sussex Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “If you were in the area at that time and saw anything of what happened, or if you have any dash camera footage, please contact us via email at collision.appeal@sussex.police.uk or by calling 101, quoting Operation Hadleigh."
