AS THE Queen celebrates her 96th birthday, The Argus looks back at the many visits she has paid to Sussex.
Since the early 1930s, when she was still a young girl, the Queen has frequented our county and has always been met with a warm welcome.
From Brighton Racecourse to visiting a fish market in Newhaven, she has completed many royal tours of the region.
She opened several Sussex landmarks such as the reopening of Gatwick Airport in 1958 and Brighton Marina in 1979.
Her most recent visit was in 2013 when she toured Sussex a year after her Diamond Jubilee.
We've put together a gallery of pictures to remember her visits here.
Her Majesty is the longest living and longest-serving monarch in British history and this year celebrates her Platinum Jubilee.
