A MAN has appeared in court charged with raping a woman in a park.
It comes after a woman in her twenties was dragged off a path while she was walking at 10.20am on Thursday morning.
Brandon Woolven, from Brighton, is accused of rape and three counts of sexual assault.
The 22-year-old was also charged with two counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm in connection to the incident near Pontefract Road in Barnsley.
He was remanded in custody following the appearance at Sheffield Magistrates’ Court on Saturday.
Woolven is due to appear at Sheffield Crown Court on May 17.
