ROADS have been closed off and a cordon established after an “unexploded ordinance” was discovered.
Police are attending the scene around the Meadow View area, with a team from the Ministry of Defence said to be on their way to the site.
A spokesman for Sussex Police said that the cordon is a precautionary measure and said “there is no risk to the public”.
Police believe that the item may have been “innocently purchased by a member of the public”.
It is unknown when the cordon will be lifted.
More as we have it.
