FATBOY Slim has backed an Argus appeal to raise money for refugees fleeing the conflict in Ukraine.
In a video, the 'Right Here, Right Now' DJ said he had been “horrified” by the ongoing Russian invasion, which has seen millions of people flee the country.
He said: “I’m really proud to back The Argus campaign to help those fleeing for their lives. It’s hard to imagine what it must be like.
“Just a few weeks ago they were living normal lives, and now they’re having to leave behind everything they own.
“Many of us feel powerless, so please dig deep for The Argus campaign. That would ensure your donation goes to those who need it the most.”
Over 4.1 million refugees have fled the country since the start of the war, with an estimated 6.4 million people having been displaced within Ukraine.
More than £26,000 has been donated to the #ThereForUkraine appeal since it launched last month, with money going towards the British Red Cross’ Ukraine Crisis Appeal.
Since the start of the war in late February, The Argus has reported on people in Brighton and Hove and across Sussex who have been affected by the war, revealing how close to home the conflict is.
Your donation could help someone affected get food, water, first aid, medicines, warm clothes and shelter.
To donate to our #ThereWithUkraine appeal, go to our JustGiving page at justgiving.com/therewithukraine and please give whatever you can.
