If you were going for a coffee and a cake with a friend from out of town, where would you take them in Sussex?
“I would probably take them to the Big Beach Café – is that corny? It’s not self-promotion, I’m just being honest.
“I do a lot of my business meetings, if there’s someone I’m meeting and I don’t want them to come to my house, I’ll meet them at the café.
“Not blowing my own trumpet, but I would go to Big Beach Café.”
What is the best shop in Sussex?
“I think my favourite is Canham and Sons Butchers in Hove because I do like my cooking and I do love the meat, the family that run it.
“They always educate me about parts of animals, and also make me laugh.”
Whether it be for a concert, comedy or theatre, what is the best venue around?
“It was lovely going back to Concorde 2 the other night. We used to do Big Beat Boutique there.
“That always feels like my club house, second home – so many memories of what went on in there.”
If you’re looking to escape the city, what is your favourite outdoors place to visit?
“Forest Row, which is in the Ashdown Forest and Hundred Acre Wood.
“That’s where I hang out when I want to get away from the city.”
And lastly, whether it be for a drink or a sit-down meal, what is the best bar, pub or restaurant in Sussex?
“My current favourite is Burnt Orange. Fabulous food, fabulous atmosphere.
“And a bonus show I’d really recommend – I went to see Stomp at The Old Market.
“It’s come back to Brighton and to see it in a lovely little theatre like The Old Market, I was absolutely blown away and almost moved to tears.
“I thoroughly recommend everyone to go see it.”
