SIX huge light sculptures are to feature at beauty spots across the county.
Nathan Coley will bring some of his most famous word-based exhibits to illuminate areas near Lewes this summer.
The Tentative Words Change Everything exhibition, from today until Monday, August 29, will “join the dots between some of Sussex’s most unforgettable locations”.
“This exhibition brings together the largest selection of my outdoor sculptures in one place and is the first time I have exhibited so many of the works in such close proximity,” said Coley.
“I’m enthralled and moved by all of the locations and how the sculptures sit together in the Sussex landscape.”
The artist’s work will be set in various locations, including Lewes Castle, West Beach in Newhaven, a vineyard, and a derelict modernist car park.
Coley’s exhibition comes as part of a collaboration with business-led tourism group Sussex Modern, alongside Lewes District Council, South Downs National Park Authority and Plumpton College.
Nathaniel Hepburn, chairman of Sussex Modern, said: “We are delighted to launch these spectacular works across Sussex.
“This new outdoor exhibition is a chance for those living in the region to uncover world class art on their doorstep and for those visiting the area to experience the landscape in a new, thought-provoking way.”
