A BAND has postponed part of their European tour after testing positive for Covid-19.
Brighton-formed rock duo Royal Blood announced their shows in the UK, Ireland and France would need to be rescheduled after frontman Mike Kerr contracted the virus.
In a post on social media, the band said: “I’m heartbroken to write this, but despite being fully protected and taking precautions, I have tested positive for Covid following last night’s show at The O2 Arena.

“This morning, I’ve woken up to discover I have lost my voice. Unfortunately, this isn’t something I can ‘power through’. I currently cannot sing a single note. My voice is gone.
“I’m absolutely gutted. We were having the time of our lives up there, and your support and passion is not taken for granted for one second.
“I’m so sorry to advise that I cannot continue the tour and want to apologise for the huge disappointment and inconvenience this will cause you all.
“We will work as hard as we can to reschedule the shows for as soon as possible. Mike.”
Earlier this year, the band, made up of Mike Kerr and Ben Thatcher, were forced to cancel part of their European tour due to rising case numbers of Covid-19.
The duo also pulled out of performing at Park Live Festival in Moscow, Russia, due to the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.
While the band was formed in Brighton, Mike grew up in Worthing and Ben in Rustington.
Earlier this month, Royal Blood were also forced to cancel a show in Paris after a truck transporting their equipment was blockaded by protesters.
