A MISSING dog has sent social media users into a frenzy, as people scour a city for the lost pet.
Rescue dog Gus ran from the Victory Inn pub in Duke Street, Brighton, when visiting with his owner, Natasha O’Connor on Saturday.
Natasha, from London, was visiting for the day when the ginger pooch broke free from his harness.
She has had to take time off work to remain in Brighton and search for Gus, with help from her mum, volunteers who have put up posters, and hundreds of people on Facebook.
“The last sighting of Gus was on Sunday at the Seven Dials roundabout, but we haven’t heard anything since, no one has spotted him yet,” said Natasha.
“We came down for the day, he bolted out the pub and we’ve been looking ever since. I quickly went home last night just to get some more clothes, and then me and my mum drove back down.”
Gus is one year and eight months old and is a Jack-a-poo".
There have also been many reported sightings of him from the Pool Valley area of Brighton, but nothing as yet confirmed.
Hundred of concerned social media users have pledged their support by sharing Natasha’s story, as various pubs are acting as “drop points” for people to collect posters to deposit around the city.
Natasha’s contact number is attached to Gus’s collar. People are advised not to chase or approach Gus, as he is timid and will run away.
