Burgess Hill summer fair returns

Burgess Hill will see visitors enjoy activities and performances as its summer fayre returns on Sunday, June 19, while children are invited to enjoy a miniature railway and inflatable toys.

The event in St John’s Park traditionally marks the end of Burgess Hill’s summer festival, but this year will be part of festivities to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.

Councillor Robert Eggleston, from Burgess Hill Town Council, said: “The summer fair has always been a popular feature with community groups and events for all the family.

“It is such a strong part of our history and community life, and it is great to see it coming back after an absence due to the pandemic.”

This year’s event will run from 11am until 3pm.

Community groups are invited to apply for a pitch, which the town council says is designed to allow people to “raise their profile, fundraise and showcase their talents”.

Unlike previous years, however, pitches will be limited to four metres squared.
