A MOTORCYCLIST has died after a serious crash involving a car.
Emergency services were called to the scene of the crash in Pound Hill, Framfield, near Uckfield, shortly after 12.10pm on Saturday, March 26.
Police confirmed that a 54-year-old man died in the crash.
"Unfortunately the motorcyclist, a 54-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the scene," a police spokesman said.
The road was closed for six hours while emergency services dealt with the incident.
Police are also appealing for witnesses to the fatal crash.
"Any witnesses to the collision or anyone who has dashcam footage and has not made it known to police is asked to report it by emailing collision.appeal@sussex.police.uk or call 101, quoting Operation Ansley,” the police spokesman added.
Last week, another motorcyclist died after a crash with a van.
Dan Kinsella, from Brighton, died in hospital following the crash on the A259 in Portslade on Wednesday, March 16.
Despite efforts from passers-by who performed CPR, the 25-year-old died from his injuries two days later.
A 34-year-old man from Southwick has been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury and dangerous driving and driving under the influence of drugs over the specified limit.
