Many people were seen strolling down the promenade and queuing to buy refreshments on the seafront.
Sussex is set for another weekend of glorious sunshine this week as the warm temperatures continue.
Temperatures are expected to hold steady in most of England at around 17C or 18C through the rest of the week and into the weekend – warmer than the average for March.
Today has been an especially warm with heights of 19C felt in some parts of Sussex.
Meteorologist Alex Deakin said: "It may well be the shortest weekend of the year, because the clocks go forward, but it will be the sunniest.
"It's going to be blue skies across the board on both Saturday and Sunday thanks to a chunky area of high pressure that is wobbling around across the UK."
According to the Met Office Brighton will see warmth of 17C on Friday and Saturday but with chilly nights with some fog and frost.
Mr Deakin added that there will be a bit of a breeze on Saturday but it will largely be a "fine spring day with plenty of sunshine".
The vast majority of the UK is set to see continued sunny spells and dry conditions as well.
There will be a slight drop next week as the temperatures reduce to between 14C to 11C from Monday to Wednesday in the city.
