A BAND has cancelled a show in France after a truck transporting their equipment was blockaded by protesters.
The Brighton-formed rock duo Royal Blood announced their show at Zenith in Paris will no longer be going ahead as French hauliers blocked roads across the country in protest against fuel price hikes.
In a post on social media, the band said: “We regret to advise that due to protests by some road hauliers in France, the show at the Zenith in Paris cannot go ahead.

“Since 7am, the trucks transporting all the Royal Blood equipment have been blockaded at a service station near Paris, and despite the best efforts of the promoter and the police, the protesters will not allow the trucks to leave.
“This is a huge disappointment for us all and we are very sorry for any inconvenience this will cause.

“Our teams are currently working to reschedule this concert.”
Those with tickets to see the band, made up of Mike Kerr and Ben Thatcher, were urged to keep hold of their tickets until a new date for the show is announced.
Earlier this year, Royal Blood were forced to cancel part of their European tour due to Covid-19.
The duo also pulled out of performing at Park Live Festival in Moscow, Russia, due to the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.
While the band was formed in Brighton, Mike grew up in Worthing and Ben in Rustington.
