A GALLERY has raised £5,500 from the sale of limited editions and original artworks for a primary school.
Based in Bond Street in Brighton, Enter Gallery's three-day Sample Sale gave customers the chance to snap up framed and unframed artworks from leading contemporary artists like Pure Evil, Patrick Hughes, Eelus and Magnus Gjoen.
Money from the gallery's sale went towards Middle Street Primary School in Brighton.
Rob Cooper, headteacher of the school, said that the proceeds will go towards improving outdoor space for pupils to enjoy.
He said: “Additional funding makes such a difference to the exciting things we can do in school for our children.
“The Enter Gallery Sample Sale will help us to turn our outdoor areas into a special green oasis in one of the busiest built-up areas of the city.
“This will support the well-being of our children and create a space we can be proud of.”
The annual event is the latest in a series that Enter Gallery has organised to raise funds for the school.
Proceeds from previous years’ events have gone towards employing a special needs teacher and renovating the school’s Arts Centre.
