A COMMUNITY group focused on helping people into affordable housing has been given a cash boost.
Adur Community Collective Land Trust (ACCLT) has been given vital funds as it works to help those struggling with the area's high house prices.
The trust is acquiring land on which it will build affordable homes and it plans to renovate rundown properties.
It will use the £1,250 grant from the Cala housing group to improve its website.
Linda McCanna, chairwoman of ACCLT, said: “We are extremely grateful to Cala for recognising that small organisations like ours need support with basic operational costs.
“Having help with funding will allow us to focus our energies on acquiring the trust's first property.”
The trust won a share of £10,000 that Cala is setting aside for community projects in areas where it is building housing developments.
Lauren Ryan, marketing manager at Cala, said: “We are looking forward to seeing how the funding will help support ACCLT’s operational costs, as well as website upgrades and membership costs for the Community Land Trust Network.

“We are committed to making a lasting contribution to the communities in which we build, and the community bursary is a way of supporting those projects that matter most to local people.”
