EMERGENCY services have responded to a crash between a van and a motorcycle on the A259.
Police were called to the collision at the junction of the A259 Wellington Road and Church Road, Portslade, at about 8.25am on Wednesday.
The motorcyclist was taken to Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton by road in a serious condition, a South East Coast Ambulance Service spokeswoman.
Police said the A259 was closed in the immediate vicinity for the incident to be attended to.
An air ambulance is also believed to have landed in Vale Park, Hove.
Officers are still at the scene and there is no further information at this time,” a police spokesman said.
Pictures from the scene near Hove’s western boundary show a number of police and ambulance crews.
