A PERSON has been hit by a train near a railway station.
Southern Rail confirmed that a person was struck near Eastbourne Station yesterday evening at around 8.50pm.
A spokesman said: "It is with great sadness that we report a person has been hit by a train between Eastbourne and Hampden Park.
"All lines are blocked between these stations whilst the emergency services work to deal with this incident."

Pictures taken at the scene show a large emergency service response.
Fire and ambulance crews were present as well as Sussex Police.
Lines were completely blocked while the teams attended the scene and did not reopen fully until the early hours of this morning.
Many passengers were advised not to travel due to long delays and cancellations to services.
