CHART-topper Chesney Hawkes is used to being “The One and Only”, but visitors to Brighton Palace Pier will be forgiven for doing a double take after he was spotted with his lookalike son.
The 50-year-old was visiting Brighton with his son Casey, during a break on his UK tour.
Chesney, who shot to fame in 1991 when The One and Only was at number one in the UK charts for five weeks, stopped off at the tourist attraction for fish and chips at the Palm Court restaurant.

A spokesman for the Pier said: “It was great to welcome the one and only Chesney Hawkes and son Casey toAnne Ackord, boss of the Palace Pier, said she is hoping Chesney will return to Brighton later this year, to play at PierFest – a series of summer shows held at the Palace Pier.
She said: “We are looking to put on Pier Fest again this year and we are putting on an 80s extravaganza and that is why he was here. We are hoping to confirm him as one of the acts.”
Last year, PierFest ran from July 16 to October 3, and featured events for the whole family, including music and theatre to children’s entertainment.
At the height of the pandemic in 2020, Chesney helped to launch an online music show to give some of the biggest stars of the 1980s financial help during the Covid-19 pandemic.
That Was Then… This Is Now! featured live performances and interviews from touring artists who lost their livelihoods due to the restrictions on performance and travel.
The five-part series was shot in 5k resolution at a studio in Worthing and aired weekly.
Paul Young, Kim and Marty Wilde, Toyah, Steve Harley and The Fizz also took part.
Chesney and his three children Casey, Jesse and Indi delighted fans during lockdown by performing a rendition of The Only and Only.
The clip, with aired on ITV show This Morning, went viral after it was broadcast.
