A BUSINESS celebrating its one year anniversary will be donating all of the money it makes today to a charity supporting Ukrainian refugees.
Bang’s Food Truck, which was founded by Angus York, is open from 8.00am until 4.00pm today at Ote Hall Farm in Janes Lane, near Burgess Hill.
The 24-year-old, from Wivelsfield Green near Haywards Heath, decided for the one year anniversary of his business to donate all proceeds to the Red Cross’ appeal for Ukrainian refugees.
The food truck was a business born out of lockdown when Angus was applying for jobs in London but realised he wanted to chase his passion for cooking instead.

He runs the business with the help of his family, as well as around seven part-time staff.
He said: “We’re giving 100 per cent of our take to the Red Cross refugee appeal for Ukraine, everything we get we will donate. We think it is a lovely way to thank customers but also help elsewhere.
“It felt like a good way for us to give back, to say thank you to everyone for the support we have had over the last year.
“We get 300 to 400 people through Ote Hall on a Sunday, the same people each week so it seems like a good way to say thank you and to help those in need.
“It is horrendous the crisis over in Ukraine so it’s really good for everyone to get behind.”
Angus said he was sat at home during the first lockdown in 2020 after finishing his Economics degree and was looking for jobs which “didn’t get him excited”.
His family encouraged him to follow his passion for cooking, which is how Bang’s Food Truck was born in March 2021.
Angus added: “I have always loved being a chef, I have been a chef on and off for the last seven years or so.
“There as so many businesses that have come out of lockdown which are thriving, it’s amazing to see.”
The food truck is open in various locations around the Burgess Hill and Ditchling area which includes gourmet burgers, coffees and other food items.
The van sells its gourmet burgers on Thursdays and Fridays but will be selling coffee, tea, cake and brunch rolls today.
