BRIGHTON has lost its title as the most profitable city in the UK to be a landlord, it has been revealed.
A study conducted by CIA Landlords found those renting out property in the city make an average monthly profit of £545.
However, London took the top spot, with landlords making an average profit of almost £1,000 per month.
Brighton placed fourth in the list, also behind Newry in Northern Ireland and Bangor in Wales.

Landlords in St Albans, however, face a worse prospect after it was ranked as the worst city to be a landlord - with an average monthly loss of £769.
Chichester placed ninth-worst in the study, with landlords facing a £324 monthly loss on average.

The study analysed the costs of maintenance and furnishing to letting agent fees, safety certificates, tenancy deposit registration and landlord insurance costs, alongside the average mortgage among, rental rates and property prices across 69 British cities.
