A TRAIN line was blocked due to “animals being on the railway”.
Southern Rail announced that the railway line between Three Bridges and Haywards Heath was temporarily blocked on Thursday night.
At 6.27pm, a Southern Rail spokeswoman said a number of animals were on the line.
“Due to animals being on the railway, the line is currently blocked between Three Bridges and Haywards Heath, in the direction of Brighton,” she said .
The reopened shortly after, but a number of trains were delayed as a result.
“The line is open again and services are on the move,” the spokeswoman said at 6.33pm.
“Some delays have picked up between Three Bridges & Haywards Heath, so please allow some extra time.”
By 6.45pm, services between Three Bridges and Haywards Heath had returned to normal.
