A HUGE music festival has announced its return at a new site.
Following a sold-out debut last year, On The Beach is set to return to Brighton on July 24.
Organisers have announced a host of acts who are set to perform at the festival, including Andy C, Sub Focus, Wilkinson, Shy FX, Dimension, Friction and Harriet Jaxxon.
More musicians and the exact location of the festival will be announced soon.
“This is just the first of the four dates to be revealed for the On The Beach series, so keep your eyes peeled for some huge future announcements,” an On The Beach spokesman said.
Tickets for the drum and bass festival are set to go on sale on Wednesday, March 9.
“With the beach beneath your feet and the beats raining down on you from the towering main stage, this is a perfect open-air party away in a gorgeous location with views out over the sea,” the spokesman said.
“As the afternoon slowly turns to evening and the sun sets, it provides a stunning backdrop while world's best DJs will match the mood with a forward thinking soundtrack and the big screens immerse you in a world of visuals.”
The final day of last year’s festival, which saw DJ sets from Carl Cox and Chase & Status, was cancelled.
The event, which was held on Madeira Drive, was cancelled due to “extreme weather”.
At the time Brighton and Hove City Council spokesman said: “We took the decision to cancel Sunday’s On The Beach event on health and safety grounds, after liaising at length with the site’s independent safety officer, the promoters, production and security crews.
“All parties agreed that the extreme weather that had been predicted posed a potentially life-threatening risk to anyone attending or working at the event.
“The safety of everyone at the event always has to be our primary consideration.”
Pendulum, Hybrid Minds ft Tempza, Dimension, Friction ft Linguistics, Kyrist, Mollie Collins, Kaz B2B North Base and DJ Inter were due to perform.
