DESPITE suffering their third defeat in a row, Albion fans still looked to be in good spirits at the Amex.
Goals from Matty Cash and Ollie Watkins gave Aston Villa a 2-0 success against the Seagulls on Saturday.
It added to their deflation of previous Saturday’s 3-0 reverse by Burnley.
Both sides went into the contest languishing well down the Premier League form table, but it was the visitors who improved on a record of one win in their last seven games heading to the south coast.
But Graham Potter said he felt Albion’s performance was an improvement on the previous week.
Kick-off was delayed by 30 minutes due to issues on the roads in and around Brighton which saw the Villa coach arriving late – but in truth it was Brighton who struggled to get out of second gear.
The Seagulls remain without a home win since Boxing Day.
