THE Royal Navy were called following reports of an unexploded mortar shell on a beach.
A suspected unexploded World War Two mortar shell was found on Lancing beach at around 2.45 this afternoon.
A bomb disposal unit (EOD) from Her Majesty’s Naval Base in Portsmouth were called to take the bomb away.
It was not believed to have been explosive.
