If you were going for a coffee and a cake with a friend from out of town, where would you take them in Sussex?
“One of my favourite places is in Horsham, and it’s called Gwyn's Bakery. It does the most amazing croissants that I’ve ever had.
“He hits everything on the head, but the coffee and the croissants in there are absolute luxury. It’s definitely one of my go to places.”
What is the best shop in Sussex?
“The Milk Churn make lovely charmer cheddar. They use all the milk from the estate and create lovely cheese.
“And they’ve got a farm shop, so you can get local butter and cheese from there. It’s absolutely amazing.
“And right next door is my favourite beer place called Firebird Brewing. It’s almost like a one-stop for two things, which is great.”
Whether it be for a concert, comedy or theatre, what is the best venue around?
“I don’t really get to go out to venues, as that’s always on the weekends.
“But Tulleys Farm – I was amazed when I went there for the first time.
“The variety of stuff they pull off, it’s such an amazing setting. It’s quite fun and there some serious things in between.”
If you’re looking to escape the city, what is your favourite outdoors place to visit?
“One of my immediate pretty places around us Chichester and Arundel. There are loads of little getaways around there that we’ve done that are pretty amazing.
“It’s so picturesque with nice little walks.
“But Arundel with the history – coming from South Africa, we don’t have that kind of history and castles so it’s quite fun for us.”
And lastly, whether it be for a drink or a sit-down meal, what is the best bar, pub or restaurant in Sussex?
“For drinks, I think The Mesmerist in Brighton does some really cool cocktails.
“I really enjoy The Chilli Pickle in Brighton as well. I wasn’t expecting that kind of quality – it was absolutely amazing.
“And then an off the radar one was Sushi Garden – like proper Japanese style food, which is not easy to find around here.”
