A MAN has been found dead after falling from a cliff.
Emergency services were called after reports of a man having fallen from the cliffs near Eastbourne on Thursday, February 17.
Police said the coastguard conducted a search of the area and located the body of a man.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
“His next of kin have been informed,” a police spokesman said.
“Enquiries are ongoing but there are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances.”
The RNLI Eastbourne said a volunteer crew were paged at about 5pm.
They were requested to launch their inshore lifeboat and tasked to assist police, local coastguards and the coastguard rescue helicopter with the incident east of the Belle Tout Lighthouse.
“There will be no further details due to the sensitive nature of the call,” a spokesman said.
