THOUSANDS of homes are without power as Storm Eunice brings down power lines and causes power failures across the county.
Almost two thousand homes have been hit in Crowborough, with another 247 in Newhaven and 284 in and around Brighton after a high voltage electricity line fault earlier this morning.
In East Grinstead, around 540 households have seen power go out, with 369 households facing power outages in Haywards Heath.
More than 600 homes are also without power in Lewes after an outage.
Meanwhile, in Seaford, residents from 116 homes have been told that power won't be restored until 11.30pm tomorrow at the earliest.
Outages have also been reported by UK Power Networks in Bexhill, Burgess Hill, Hurstpierpoint, Hailsham, Uckfield, Shoreham, Crawley and Horsham - with over 5,000 homes without power across other parts of East Sussex.
Gatwick train station has also been left without power, leaving trains unable to head to and from the airport.
A red weather warning for wind is in place across the county until 3pm this afternoon, with the public being advised to stay at home amid a "danger to life".
UK Power Networks said they are working to restore power supplies as quickly as is safely possible and urged people to call the emergency services if anyone sees electricity lines that are down or causing significant risk to the public.
The company aims to restore power to most of those affected by 6pm this evening.
Those who need extra support during power outages are able to access free services from UK Power Networks by calling 0800 028 4581 and asking about their Priority Services Register.
