A HAIRDRESSER is offering free appointments to help beat loneliness this winter.
Brighton salon owner, Samuel Chapman has opened his doors to loneliness charity Together Co, offering complimentary appointments, a friendly face and a cup of tea to those who would love some company.
Throughout February, Samuel Chapman will be offering the complimentary appointments to people who are looking for a pick-me-up.
Every Monday and Tuesday, members of the public will be able to receive a complimentary cut and blow dry, along with a cup of tea and a chat.
Salon owner, Samuel Chapman said: “We are delighted to be working with Together Co. It feels amazing to be able to offer those who feel lonely a safe place to come and chat and have a fresh haircut.
"A trip to the hairdressers can be like visiting a friend and we are so excited to meet lots of new friends through Together Co.”
Based in Hove, Together Co was founded more than twenty years ago to support locals who are lonely by making connections.
During the Covid-19 pandemic many people found themselves isolated, which means the need for the charity's befriending scheme has increased.
Members of the befriending scheme - set up to help create valuable friendships and improves confidence and self-esteem - will be able to get a free haircut.
A spokesman for the charity said: "Our scheme members are really touched to be offered this lovely treat at Samuel Chapman Hair Salon.
"Loneliness can affect us all at one time or another and this people-powered charity works together to connect people, places and ideas and overcome social isolation."
"Many are feeling extremely alone after the challenges of the past two years. A chat and a haircut are a lovely way to re-connect and feel cared for.”
