ARMED police were called to a seafront square after reports of a person with a firearm.
Police were called to Regency Square, Brighton at around 11.30pm last night to reports of a person inside a property in possession of a firearm.
Photos from the scene a police car parked in the road, stopping traffic from entering the square, and dozens of people stood on the pavement.
An eyewitness said: “Police have blocked off the road and are stopping anyone entering.
“Normal police and armed police are here. It looks like one of the buildings has been evacuated.”
A spokeswoman for Sussex Police said: “Officers attended and conducted a full search with no trace. The road was closed temporarily as a precaution while police completed their enquiries.”
