TWO dogs have died in a fire at an agricultural building.
West Sussex and Fire and Rescue Service (WSFRS) were called to a Bignor Park Road, Bignor following reports of a blaze at a property at around 5 am this morning.
Fire crews from Billingshurst, Chichester, Littlehampton, Midhurst and Petworth were in attendance.
People were told to avoid the area and keep their windows closed.
Firefighters used hose reels and jets to extinguish the fire, which was put out at around 7.30 am.
WSFRS confirmed there were no human causalities, but two dogs died were killed in the blaze.
A spokesman for the service said: “The fire is now extinguished and crews have left the scene.
“Although there are no human casualties, very sadly two dogs have died as a result of this morning’s incident.
“Our thoughts are with the family affected at this time.”
