A WOMAN was kicked in the face and sexually assaulted as she walked home.
The victim was walking along Spitalfield Lane, Chichester at around 1am on Thursday when she was approached by an unknown man.
She was kicked twice in the face and sexually assaulted before she ran away and returned home to call the police.
The woman was treated in hospital and is now being supported by specialist officers.
Police are appealing for witnesses to the assault.
The suspect is white, in his 30s, around 6ft tall and stocky.
He has light brown hair and was wearing a black jumper or cardigan, dark blue trousers and black Nike shoes.
A spokesman for Sussex Police said: “Investigating officers are keen to speak to anyone who saw what happened, or who may have captured any relevant CCTV, dash cam or doorbell footage from the area around that time.
“Anyone with information is asked to contact police online or by calling 101 quoting serial 81 of 03/02.”
