A MAN who beat up his partner and destroyed her mobile phone has been given a suspended sentence.
Glenn Harvey, 52, from Cowley Drive in Brighton, assaulted the woman in Woodingdean and destroyed her iPhone on June 20 last year.
Brighton Magistrates' Court sentenced Harvey on January 13 to 12 weeks in prison suspended for 24 months.
He must also participate in rehabilitation for 30 days and pay £300 in compensation.
A restraining order was also issued to prevent Harvey from contacting the woman, which lasts until January 2024.
For a further offence of assault from June 8, 2020, Harvey was sentenced to eight weeks in prison, also suspended for 24 months, to run concurrently.
