A MAN has been charged with raping a woman in a town centre.
Police were called to Wellington Place, Hastings, shortly before 10pm on Saturday, January 29, following a report a woman had been raped.
Luke Anderson was subsequently arrested in the early hours of Sunday, January 30, on suspicion of rape.
The unemployed 37-year-old, of no fixed address, was charged and appeared before Brighton Magistrates’ Court on Monday, January 31.
He was remanded in custody to appear before Lewes Crown Court on February 28.
The victim is being supported by specially trained officers while enquiries continue.
