A MAN has been arrested on suspicion of dealing drugs after a foot chase through a town centre.
Following a number of recent arrests for drug offences, Lewes Police and the local neighbourhood enforcement team conducted patrols in Seaford.
On Saturday, January 29, officers witness “suspicious behaviour” between two males in Sutton Drove.

When police tried to speak to the two men, both took off and started running through the town.
“Unfortunately for them, we officers are also still in the January 'new year, new me mood', so were only too happy to join them, with both males being quickly detained,” a Lewes Police spokesman said.
One man was arrested on suspicion of drug supply offences following the recovery of a large amount of Class A and B drugs.
He has been released under investigation whilst further enquiries are carried out.
The following day, officers stopped and searched a vehicle in East Street, Seaford, which resulted in Class A and B drugs being recovered.
A man was summonsed to court for possession of Class B drugs, and one was arrested for being in possession of Class A drugs.
“The arrested male initially gave false details, and once at custody his true identity was revealed. He was given a police caution for possessing Class A drugs,” the police spokesman said.
“Unfortunately for him it didn’t quite end there, as our colleagues from the Home Office wanted to speak to him for unrelated matters, so he was handed over to their care.”
The police reminded the public that drug dealing and drug use has an impact on local communities, often leading to theft, anti-social behaviour and causing road accidents.
“We really do encourage members of the public to report any concerns around drugs to us. We take your reports seriously and will target those that need and deserve to be targeted,” the spokesman added.
If you have any information about drug dealing in your area, call 101, visit the police website or report anonymously to Crimestoppers.
