AMERICAN singer, songwriter Todrick Hall has been added to the main stage line up at Brighton Pride.

Hall has been booked for an exclusive performance on Saturday August 6, for the 30th anniversary Brighton Pride celebrations.

He is on the main stage at We Are Fabuloso, Brighton & Hove Pride’s official fundraiser for the Brighton Rainbow Fund in Preston Park with headliner Christina Aguilera.

Hall recently launched his new album Femuline featuring collaborations with Chaka Khan, Brandy, Tyra Banks, Ts Madison and Nicole Scherzinger.

A spokesman for Brighton Pride said: "Todrick has become an inspirational, larger-than-life character, simply by embracing everything he wants to be to become everything he can be."

He has over 800 million views on YouTube, worked with Beyoncé, and won “Video for Good” VMA as co-executive producer on Taylor Swift’s LGBTQ+ anthem "You Need to Calm Down”.

He has also starred in a selection of Broadway hits with Billboard summarising his huge appeal as: “He’s part old-school theatre showman, part new-school internet personality, part drag queen, he’s also pushing the boundaries of LGBTQ representation in a business that has historically been unwelcoming to queer people of colour.”

This year is the delayed 30th anniversary of Brighton Pride culminating in a weekend of campaigning, celebrating and fundraising for LGBTQ+ and community projects across the city from August 5 to 7.

The spokesman added: "Pride is a celebration of how far we have come but it is also an ongoing campaign for those marginalised communities at home and abroad who still suffer persecution on a daily basis.

"Our fundraising events will ensure that we continue to raise vital funds for our local LGBTQ+ and community projects.

"Brighton and Hove Pride is a Pride to be proud of. Alongside the smiles, sunshine and good times, Brighton Pride’s sole ethos is to promote tolerance and diversity within the communities and to organise inclusive events."

News of Hall's appearance followed previous announcements that pop stars Christina Aguilera and Paloma Faith will be headlining the weekend.

Pride bosses have also announced that Gorgon City will headline the festival’s Pride Dance Big Top tent on the Saturday.
